AKC continues to explore more avenues for people to be involved with their dogs. Most of us know about obedience and agility and even dock diving. I attended my first Barn Hunt this past weekend. The dogs are judged on how quickly the dog can locate a rat which is inside a container and hidden among lots of straw. Some dogs you would not suspect were very good at locating the rat. Others that you may have thought would be super, were not. Buddy and Gidget sniffed through the straw outside of the test building. They had a good time.
